By accessing or using Acorny ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Acorny provides a platform for capturing reading highlights, creating active recall cards, and reviewing them using spaced repetition. The Service includes a web application and a browser extension.

Your Account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure.
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit security vulnerabilities.
  • Create multiple accounts for abusive purposes.

Your Content

  • You retain ownership of all content you create and save through the Service.
  • You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service.
  • We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your highlights, notes, or recall cards.

Service Availability

  • We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
  • We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice when possible.
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days unless otherwise required by law.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
